Directions to Midtown Farm
Dufton is easily accessible from both the M6 (30 mins) and A66 (10 mins).
On arrival in the village you will need to call at Sycamore House, next
door to Midtown Farm, to collect the key.
If approaching from the South on the M6, we are about
30 minutes from J38.
First take the B6260 at J38, signposted
to Appleby. Drive through Orton
and across the moors to Appleby. Pass through the town and over
the bridge, arriving at a T junction where you turn left. Follow
this road, which
swings to the right under the railway. Continue for about 3 miles
until you arrive at the village of Dufton. When you reach the
village green
at the centre of the village, you will see the pub, The Stag
Inn, on your right.
Our house, Sycamore House, is 4 doors further down from the pub.
If approaching from the East on the A66, coming from
Scotch Corner: you need to take the turn signposted to Appleby,
but do not turn into
Appleby town itself. Continue past Appleby, and the road will
swing to the right under a bridge. Continue for about 3 miles
until you arrive
at the village of Dufton. When you reach the village green at
the centre of the village, you will see the pub, The Stag Inn,
on your right.
Our house, Sycamore House, is 4 doors further down from the pub.
If approaching from the North on the M6, pick up the A66 at J40 Penrith,
heading East, signposted Appleby and Brough. Continue for about
9 miles until you pass a BP petrol station on your right. About
1 mile further on there is a
turn on the left signposted to Dufton and Long Marton. Follow
this road to a T junction and turn left into the village of Long
Marton. In the
centre of the village, just after the road swings to the left,
take the right turn to Dufton at the lamp post in the centre
of the road. Follow
this for about 2 miles to a T junction, and turn right into Dufton.
You will shortly find yourself at the village green in the centre
of the village.
Our house, Sycamore House, is on the left, and is a long sandstone
house with green windows. If you reach the pub you have missed
us and gone too
far!
